When applied to clamps and slides “Dynamically Variable Stroke Technology” (DVST) allows the stroke to be varied.

Examples of typical designs for this application are :

The bush bearing single stroke DVST converter—applied to clamps,

Slides & cylinder stroke control.

The ball bearing DVST converter—applied to reciprocating clamps,

Slides & cylinder stroke control.

Advantages

Varying the stroke dynamically allows control of sliding, clamping and cylinder stroke.

Link Adjusters are used in applications for instance where a cable drive (say a hand brake cable)  is connected to components where the travel needs to be adjusted (brake pads).
